How Do I Turn Off Split View Option?

There is a brand new feature I ABSOLUTLY HATE!!!

I have used Brave for years and I love it. Brave web browser gives me the security I value and is extremely easy to configure. But there is a feature recently added that is extremely irritating.

While on YouTube, I go through dozens of links every day. When I see a video I want to watch, I right-click on the link and choose OPEN LINK IN NEW TAB. Every other browser I have used works this way. NOW, when I attempt to open a link in a new tab, the default is OPEN LINK IN SPLIT VIEW!

I HATE THIS WITH AN ABJECT PASSION!!!

Not only does it slow me down considerably, but I have to stop what I’m doing and fix the mess I am now in.

How do I fix this?

Can we have a Settings toggle to turn this “feature” off?

Can the devs migrate this option to a less obnoxious location on the menu?

PLEASE, help us!

@johncalvinhall this was inherited from Chromium. If you open Chrome you’ll see it does the same there. If you don’t like it, the option for now would be to go to brave://flags/ and disable Split View there:

That said, unless it changes upstream I don’t imagine we’ll see a change to it. And I’m not sure how long the flag will remain. It’s there as it’s a new feature but often will eventually hit a point where they think it’s user tested enough and gets forced on people.
