Exact URL of the website in question: Netflix.com

Does the site work as expected when using Chrome? Yes

Brave version (check About Brave): 1.81.135

When you tried to reinstall, did you make sure to select the box to say to delete all data?

Anyway, that part may not be needed either. I’m assuming you’re on Windows? If so, follow the instructions as given at Brave doesn't start when I run it as administrator and Brave Shield doesn't work - #41 by clifton

I didn’t check the box to delete all data because I have a lot of important bookmarks that I don’t want to add again. I followed the instructions and when doing the last step I get this.

I’m also doing this on windows 11

Then export them, at least if you want to use that option.

For this part would need @Mattches or one of the people from Brave to guide.

Beyond that, just can also reference Brave doesn't start when I run it as administrator and Brave Shield doesn't work - #92 by Saoiray and Brave Browser stopped loading suddenly - #6 by Saoiray

All I can say is that it seems your components are being hidden under admin and can’t be accessed, meaning you have the issue where it works like you don’t have it at all. Until the permissions are fixed and you’re no longer trying to run it with admin permissions, you’ll encounter issues.

Doing a backup of data and doing the uninstall without retaining anything would purge the components with the wrong permissions. Then installing again fixes it. A lot of people have said this feels like the easier path.

@HungryMongol if bookmarks are the only bit you’re worried about, I would agree with @Saoiray and say you should just export your bookmarks from the browser then un/reinstall.
