Brave Wallet is not connecting to Brave Rewards

Hello, I can’t connect my Brave Wallet to Brave Rewards. I remember having connected it a few times before—could it be due to a device limit? It’s not connecting with my wallet.

Everything goes fine up until the signing step, but it gives an error at https://rewards.brave.com/connect/

Brave 1.89.145 (64 bit)
Chromium: 147.0.7727.137

Yes, this is likely related to using up your 4 slots. If you connected 4 times previously, you must use a new Solana address. Thanks!

THE 4 SLOT RULE

Brave Rewards enforces a strict limit on how many distinct browser profiles (or “devices”) can be linked to a single self-custody wallet address (like a Solana address).

  • The Limit: Each Solana address can only be connected to 4 unique Brave Rewards profiles in its entire lifetime

  • The Trigger: When you attempt to connect a 5th profile to that same address, the server rejects the request with a 409 Conflict error because the resource (the wallet address) has reached its capacity.

The error is not a bug; it is a security and anti-abuse measure to prevent users from cycling through addresses to bypass payout limits or create multiple accounts.

SOLUTION

Generate a new account in the same wallet.
Use the solana address of the new account instead of the one whose slots have been filled.

The slots cannot be emptied for security reasons so generating another account is the only way.

I had the same issue, and using a new solana address fixed it.
