Brave crashes on Linux (Ubuntu) when typing Arabic in the address bar

Description of the issue:
Brave browser (v1.82.166) on Linux (Ubuntu) instantly freezes and then crashes completely when I start typing in Arabic in the address/search bar. The browser works perfectly fine otherwise, but any attempt to type in Arabic causes a crash. This issue started immediately after the latest update.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave browser on Ubuntu.
  2. Set the keyboard input language to Arabic.
  3. Click on the address bar and type any Arabic character.
  4. The browser will freeze for a moment and then crash.

Expected result:
The browser should accept Arabic input without crashing, allowing me to search or navigate to URLs.

Additional Information:

  • The issue seems to be related to handling non-Latin characters in the latest update, as I have seen a similar report from a user with the Russian language.
  • Disabling Hardware Acceleration did not solve the problem.
  • The problem occurs with a clean user profile as well.
