I’m facing an issue with Brave Sync and would like to confirm if there is any possible recovery.
I had a Brave Sync chain set up earlier and I still have the original 25-word sync chain code saved. That code worked for a long time in the past.
Recently, I performed a fresh Windows installation and then tried to restore my Brave data using the saved sync chain code. However, Brave now reports that the sync chain/code is expired.
Unfortunately:
I no longer have access to any other device that was part of this sync chain.
The only other device (Android phone) had Brave uninstalled earlier.
I do not have a backup of the Brave user profile folder.
I understand Brave Sync is end-to-end encrypted, but I wanted to confirm:
Is there any way to recover or re-activate an expired sync chain using the original sync code?
Or is the synced data permanently unrecoverable once the chain expires and all devices are removed?
I would appreciate a clear confirmation so I can move forward accordingly.
