I have this same error for Japanese typing, on Ubuntu as well. Works everywhere else on the computer, even on different browsers. Won’t work in Brave anymore after the recent update.

I have the same issue for Japanese IME keyboard , on ubuntu Noble Numbat. IME keyboard works everywhere but not working on Brave alone.

Yes, i am also facing the same issue.

Same issue here on Ubuntu 24.04 for Chinese(Intelligent Pinyin).

it’s a bug, this bug is related to Chromium, and all chromium based browsers are affected.

I switched from Brave to Chrome(version:135.0.7049.84) and it works fine

I get the same error

the version info:
brave v. 1.77.97
Chromium: 135.0.7049.84
ubuntu 24.04.2

But it works on Chrome

hey, the same problem here. But it only occurs when using snap to install Brave. According to the official doc, switch to their native packages!
install on linux

Dear @JeffBla , seems like this worked for me. Thank you.
(Ubuntu 25.04)

Yes, you are right. I have removed the snap version of brave and install by this terminal command from official website:
curl -fsS https://dl.brave.com/install.sh | sh
