When trying to play an album on spotify using a link theres a message that says
Playback of protected content is disabled. Visit the Spotify Help page to learn how to enable playback in your browser.
i have widevine enabled helpp (it’s been like this since i downloaded brave)
@Adam1234 if disabling and then enabling again like Evan123 mentioned, then I want you to check brave://components and see if you can update Widevine Content Decryption Module or if it comes back with an error.
If it comes back with an error:
It means you launched Brave as an administrator for some reason at one point and components got locked behind those admin permissions where it’s no longer able to be fetched by Brave. It may be someone using your device that did it or something “behind the scenes” within your OS that did it for some reason, though typically only occurs due to human interaction.
I’m running Brave 1.84.132 on Fedora Linux F42. I don’t even have to option to “Run as Administrator” and I;m pretty sure I’m not running it with sudo permissions.
Update : after doing this all, it didn’t work. But as soon as I closed, killed the process from System Monitor and started the browser again, it started working.
@Saoiray If you can guide me on gathering logs towards this, maybe that could be a contribution that I can do from my end to developer in reproducing this issue (if required)..
