The search engine selection disappeared and I was kicked out of all authorizations in the browser

Everything was fine until I logged into my Brave browser again and was unpleasantly surprised to find myself logged out of all my websites and services. All my search settings were reset, and I had no choice but to use Brave Search and DuckDuckGo.

I checked my website cookie settings and discovered that 57 websites I’d logged into had cookies, but they weren’t working. I then decided to clear my cache and cookies and log in again.

Nothing else changed in Brave’s settings. What caused this glitch, how can I restore my search engine selection, and how can I prevent such problems in the future?
