Effective September 8th, 2025, Uphold will no longer support accounts in Canada. You can find more on Uphold’s withdrawal from Canada here.
Canadian Uphold users must switch to Rewards on Solana by September 8th, 2025 to continue earning with Brave Rewards.
Currently, we are only sending out invites to those who aren’t already connected to Uphold. You can reset Brave Rewards so that you are no longer connected to Uphold, and then wait for an invite.
Note: Even if you reset, your earnings from Ads viewed on your previous profile, up approximately to the time you reset, will still be deposited to your account in the next payout period.
I swear you guys are making this complicated just to screw us out of Rewards. I went to the early access link, I opened my Brave Rewards, there’s no ID to transfer over. There’s really nothing there at all except options to turn off/on ads and sign into Uphold (which I might add I just spent a bloody week verifying my ID on again for no reason now only to be told I’m no longer supported). You go to get an invite and now it wasn’t you to create a new Brave rewards account, which was a PITA to create to begin with, and connect it with an ID I haven’t seen yet. Why don’t you just admit you guys are all screwing over Canadian Brave Rewards users and we can move on. I think it’s easier just to cancel Brave Rewards and maybe Brave altogether at this point.
Hello @ledicarus! Thanks for the candid feedback. This decision was made solely by Uphold. They are removing all accounts in Canada, not just those pertaining to Brave Rewards.

Based on your description above it sounds like you went to brave://rewards and didn’t navigate to brave://rewards-internals. The internals page is where you can find your Rewards ID.
The team on discord are saying that the invite survey was discontinued. I’ve submitted my payment IDs for all my devices to the survey anyway. How long will it take Canadians to be approved to self-custody their BAT?
If we reset Brave Rewards, is the ID submitted yesterday in your form will still be the same ? I subscribed to receive an invite to connect with Solona.
As @ledicarus said, why it has been always so complicated for Canadian users ? You should have let Canadians to use the custody wallet to receive BAT for a while. I never liked Uphold, their fees are crazy.
I followed the instructions in the OP to the letter. Then I read some comments and found out a) there’s some kind of survey I was supposed to fill out, and b) I needed to keep a record of my Brave Rewards ID?
I did neither of those things. Will I still get the rewards I’m due, once I get the Solana invite?
I opened my Solana wallet, how can I accumulate my BAT in this account once Uphold is discontinued? How do I link my Brave rewards to my Solana account like I did before with Uphold?
This discord guys are saying that the survey isn’t being used anymore and that on-chain rewards will be open to everyone “soon”… It has been over 3 weeks since “soon”.
@DrBlob to confirm, you’re in Canada? You disconnected from Uphold by resetting your Rewards, have Rewards active and chose Canada for your country, and have been checking to see if Solana appears as an option to connect via Rewards?
I’m in the same boat… In Canada, yes, disconnected Uphold (June 30) via the reset instructions, Rewards is active… up to 125 ads seen for this month… only option under Connect Wallet is Uphold but can’t use that anymore… browser up to date… Solana in my Sol account (using Brave Wallet) - (more than enough to cover new account creations… internals showing unconnected and country as Canada… so all perfect here… been checking Wallet connection options daily sometimes more than once through the day…
According to @chriscat I would have thought that it would show something for you. I don’t know if they’re still working on some kinks or what. But hopefully he or @Evan123 can give some clarification here
@Saoiray Yes, from Canada and disconnected from Uphold since a while and reset my rewards on july 1. I regularly check under Reward tab - connect section if Solana ends up appearing, but didn’t unfortunately. I see no other option than the unavailable Uphold that I can’t use anymore. Still waiting for the invitation to connect to my Solana account.
How will I see the invitation? Will a new option be available in “Connect the account”?
@DrBlob unfortunately this just seems to be yet another time where they said one thing but didn’t land on it. One of the other people from Brave who is in charge of marketing just said last week that it’s about to open to everyone.
It’s just crazy because one person said people get the invites within 5 days. The other says should be available to everyone by the end of the first week of August, give or take. Then yet another person is saying September.
Initially I just was repeating the words back from the person in charge of Rewards, but we see how that’s going. Three days ago I shared the following screenshot:
So as much as they had been saying it was aggressively putting out invites, I know a lot of people said they never came. Now it seems like it’s saying they stopped sending invites and we’re waiting for open access…but not sure of actual ETA. Makes it seem like within the next couple weeks, but Brave has been bad at hitting targeted timelines.
Overall guess just have to say just have to be patient. It’s annoying but should be landing.
@Saoiray yeah I just saw it under your June24th post. If it goes until September, what will happen with the awards accumulated from June to August? Lost?
Yep, because you don’t technically earn until after you’re connected. So anything viewed while not connected counts for absolutely nothing to you. There’s nothing retroactive. So even if you connected within the same month, it will reset to 0 for the month and only then start counting toward earnings from the moment you connect until the end of that month
