Uphold in Canada

Hi there,

I recently noticed Uphold would stop working in Canada. Is there an alternative available to continue receiving the rewards? I can’t do anything in Uphold anymore due to this

”Limited Uphold account functionality

According to Uphold, there are currently some limitations on your Uphold account. Please log in to your Uphold account and check whether there are any notices or remaining account requirements to complete, then try again. For example, you may need to submit more information to Uphold.”

Hello,

Effective September 8th, 2025, Uphold will no longer support accounts in Canada.

You can use Rewards via Solana. If you reset your Rewards profile, the option will appear when you attempt to connect.

@BrokenCrayon what are you talking about? Are you referencing just the idea of Uphold? Of Solana? Or what? And you provide no details. As you can see, OP here was talking about Uphold in Canada and it was answered Uphold is no longer available there.

So are you from Canada or are you just randomly posting to someone else’s topic but have a completely different issue?

And if you are making reference to self custody (Brave Wallet/Solana), I should be available for most people especially in Canada. The only reason that that would show unavailable is if you are from a different country. It would be determining that based on the rewards country that you’ve chosen, your device locale, etc.

I used ControlD as my default DNS, ControlD is based in Canada, I don’t think that would affect me. Because I CAN login directly to Uphold, but cannot login from Brave Rewards icon.
Is there a way to figure out what is going on?

@lflucena due to legal changes, Uphold pulled out of Canada. https://support.uphold.com/hc/en-us/articles/37674838123035-Canadian-services-withdrawal

So this means you can’t connect to Uphold at all with Rewards if you’re from Canada. Doesn’t matter what IP address and all you use. It comes down to what passport you provided when you created the Uphold account, if you have one.

I’m not in Canada. I’m in Massachusetts, US. I’m able to login to Uphold through their app or their website.

Only Brave Rewards icon/button is not connecting. Seems more like an issue between Brave and Uphold.

@lflucena okay, so you’re commenting on a topic about someone asking about Uphold being available in Canada. If you’re in the United States and having issues, then it seems your question is a bit off topic, isn’t it?

Please create a topic of your own and provide all details it asks, such as what issue you’re experiencing, which version of Brave you’re on, which OS you’re using, etc.
