Mobile YouTube doesn't work minimized

Since early November, Mobile YouTube has ceased playing in the background having the Brave Browser minimized.

Things I have tried:

  1. Clearing cookies, cache and all data.

  2. Updating and reinstalling

  3. Toggling on off background play from media

The only way Brave allows me to play anything in background is if I’m on the Desktop Site mode or YouTube allows certain videos like podcasts to be minimized.

Version I’m on: Brave 1.84.141, Chromium 142.0.7444.176

Android 12; Build/SP1A.210812.016

Please Help!

It appears that YouTube has implemented new measures to prevent this; hopefully, the team will release an update soon.
