I didn’t see the option for adding two current tabs together in a split view. Where is that option at and is there a shortcut key?
You can right click on the tab to see the options related to split view.
If you are on a tab and want to add another tab in split view, you will right click that tab and choose ‘New split view with current tab’ in the menu, and you got it.
An icon would appear in toolbar after that, which you can use to swap / unsplit tabs.
Also you can create a split view with current tab first, then add another tab to that split view.
Just right click on the tabs you need, you would see relevant options, easy to figure it out.
For keyboard shortcuts, there aren’t any by default, but you can add your own here, brave://settings/system/shortcuts
Yes. If you start a split view from a tab that is already active, it creates a split view with a new tab.
But you can place your desired tab in place of that new tab. here is what you need to do-
First, as you proceeded, create a split view. (“Add tab to new split view”)
You got a split view with current tab on left and a new tab on right.
Now right click another tab which you want in split view, and choose ‘move tab into split view’. Choose ‘swap with right tab’.
You should now get what you wanted.
Another possible and quicker path is this-
Suppose you want to have split view with Tab X and Tab Y.
You need to have Tab X open (active).
Now right click Tab Y, you would see "New split view with current tab" option**.

That’s it. It creates a split view with the tab you right-clicked + current tab.
Plus, you can assign keyboard shortcuts in settings > system > shortcuts
