If i click on a email link , it is not opening in my brave. it is opening in outlook.
i want to open gmail in brave only. please help.
@Prem27 if it’s opening external in Outlook, then it’s likely due to your OS.
Check your Default Apps settings for Windows. You can do this by going to Start → Settings → Apps → Default Apps. From there look to the bottom for Choose defaults by link type.
You’ll see all the different things there like CALLTO, Acrobat, etc. Scroll down to MAILTO and you likely will see you have Outlook, such as below:
Click on it and you can choose which one you want:
Go with Brave:
Once all of this is done, you may want to make sure you have Protocol Handlers enabled in Brave. So check the setting at brave://settings/handlers
If you have that enabled, when you go to Gmail you should see a double diamond thing in the address bar, such as below, which you can click on to then Allow it to be used as your email.
Or depending on the situation, it may end up initially with the box like below instead of the setup above.
With all of that done, all your Mailto links will open emails in the browser:
