Dear Brave Team,
First, I want to sincerely congratulate you on the continuous development and improvement of Brave. I have been a loyal user of your browser on both iPhone and iPad for many years and have recommended it to numerous friends and family because of its exceptional privacy, security, and speed. Brave remains, in my view, one of the best browsers available, combining high performance with a safe and reliable user experience. As a dedicated user and advocate, I am motivated to share concrete suggestions to further enhance the app, particularly regarding YouTube usage.
iPhone 13 Pro (latest Brave & iOS):
-
Tap behavior on video: Currently, tapping anywhere on the video immediately pauses playback. This is less convenient, especially for actions like double-tapping to skip forward. Introducing a “tap-to-show-controls without pausing” option would greatly improve usability.
-
Design suggestion: I would greatly appreciate if the iPhone version could adopt a design closer to the “Liquid Glass” concept introduced in iOS 26, with simpler, more immersive, and modern buttons and interface elements. This aesthetic and functional improvement could elevate the overall experience for the Brave community, making browsing more intuitive and visually appealing.
iPad Air 4th Generation (latest Brave & iOS):
-
Layout and access to comments: The current division of the interface (approximately two-thirds left for the video, title, and channel, one-third right for related videos) makes it difficult to access the comments section. The swipe area at the bottom left is very small, which limits precision and makes scrolling to the comments cumbersome.
-
Interactions while reading comments: Once the comments panel is open on the right, the left section (video, actions like like/dislike, add to playlist, share) is blocked. To perform any of these actions, you must first close the comments panel, return to the main video area, and then execute the action.
-
Tap behavior on video: Like on the iPhone, tapping the video immediately pauses playback, which disrupts the viewing experience.
Thank you very much for your attention and for your ongoing commitment to developing an exceptional browser. I hope these suggestions help make Brave even more performant, user-friendly, and enjoyable for the entire community.
Best regards,
-Francesco
