Brave Shields menu not displaying (black circle bug)

Description of the issue:

For several months now, when I click the Brave icon (next to the address bar), the Brave Shields menu does not appear. Instead, only a black circle shows up.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Brave browser.
  2. Click on the Brave Shields icon next to the address bar.
  3. Menu does not appear — only a black dot/circle shows.

What have you tried so far?

  • Deleted user data from AppData and reinstalled Brave
  • Updated all relevant modules and extensions
  • Tested on multiple devices

Devices tested:

  • MSI desktop (Windows 11)
  • Dell tablet (Windows 11)
  • MSI notebook (Windows 11)
  • HP notebook (Windows 11)
    (All devices are fully updated)

I also asked a colleague who uses Windows 10 — he experiences the same issue.

Expected result:

Clicking the Brave icon should open the Shields menu.

Additional notes:

This bug has been persistent for a long time.
When I tried using AI tools from Renderforest, the login would not work in Brave. I had to switch to Chrome for it to function. Normally, I would try disabling Shields for the page — but since the Shields menu doesn’t open, I can’t do that.

Is this issue being tracked or planned to be resolved?

Yes, have same.. Means shield cannot be set and pages are broken. :frowning:
