Youtube seems to be trying to take down braves ad blocker, when shields are up it gives a a grey video playback error message, until page is refreshed with shields down. Adblock seems to work on edge.

UPDATED Sunday, May 24th:
Do NOT remove your shields. Why does YT get to demand our time when it just bombards us with ads? This is why I use Brave, so let’s wait for a fix! The guy who’s been giving these “fixes” has been trying to get everyone to lower their Brave Shield, which just simply doesn’t make sense.
Clearly you are misrepresenting:
In addition to which, I have many times posted, here at the Brave Community:
Study how to use Brave Shields:
- Shields Basics
- How do I configure global and site-specific Shields settings?
- How do I use Shields while browsing
Tips regarding Brave Shields:
I have more success, with:
- Brave Shields UP, but . . .
- Either Allow All Cookies or Block 3rd Party Cookies, but NOT Blocking All Cookies
- Allowing JavaScripts from specific sources, but NOT Allowing All JavaScripts
- Trackers & Ads treatment: Aggressive (at first), and then incrementally relaxing that setting
- Fingerprinting (aka footprinting) blocking: Strict (at first), and then incrementally relaxing that setting
I almost never use:
- All of Brave Shields UP
- All of Brave Shields DOWN
I disabled shields on the YouTube site and enabled uBlock. Back to Brave status quo ante with no other issues. So presumably Brave devs have to determine what uBlock is doing right?
And I did send a report to Brave when I tuned off the shields on You Tube.
I just experimentally undid the work around after manually updating all components (not updating the browser version).
Looks like it’s fixed. Running 100% Brave adblocking.
