I was having this exact problem, but clearing Brave’s browser history seems to have fixed the issue for me.

EDIT: Well, it DID work, but when I switched to a different Youtube account, the problem came right back. Aggravating. :frowning:

@KpopOnTop when you say you cleared browsing history, do you mean all cookies and all? Or you literally meant browsing history?

Often issues here tend to get related to cookies. So like for Google/YouTube you need to purge all Google/YouTube cookies for all time. When done this would sign you out of all your Google and YouTube accounts, but then as you login and all, everything works fine.

Doing YouTube alone isn’t enough as Google uses same cookies across all of their services. Sometimes gstatic and all is part as well. I’m guessing if you opened in private window, there’s no issue, right?

I meant everything, browsing history, cookies, etc., for all time. However, after a little more experimenting, I found that one of my Youtube/Google accounts has this problem, but the other one does not, although I haven’t had time to figure out what’s different between them as far as Youtube and/or Google settings.

I dunno… I can’t seem to find any setting between the two accounts that has any effect… however, the account that doesn’t have the problem is one that I recently (last weekend) cleared out all Youtube data to give it a “clean slate”. (All comments, watch history, search history).

I don’t really want to do that with the other account, the one that is having this “video not available” problem, but it wasn’t having any trouble prior to today. I did clear my watch history older than 6 months ago, but it didn’t make any difference.

I am having this same issue on my end. Youtube shows “Video Unavailable” when signed in. This only occurs when I’m signed into Youtube on Brave. This doesn’t occur on other browsers. Videos work when signed out on Brave.

Oddly enough, when I reload the video page that has the error message, the video plays normally. I have to repeat that every time I want to watch a video though.

Odd. No issues here. Did you ever try incognito to see if happens on that as well?

Yep., It happens when signed in only in Brave. I recently tried to switch the shields off the see what that would do and Youtube worked fine. It might be an issue with the shields?

It’s weird. With shields up and not signed in (while in a private window) it works fine. Signed in with shields up the error occurs.

Really weird. It could be something in Shields settings but your description makes it sound like maybe you are one of the people detected on an account based level.

@shivan and @fanboynz I haven’t seen any mention of this lately. Is account based flagging still a thing? Any solutions or things to check?

It only occurs on Brave though. Other browsers with adblock work fine.

Yeah, I tried a private window and my main YT account still has the problem. Like optimistofthewill said, refreshing the page allows the video to play though. Weird and annoying. :frowning:

Update: This may mean nothing, but when I turn off the shields on Youtube, not only does the video that was “unavailable” play, but every video I click on after that also plays without any ads. I mean, okay, if it works, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Not my experience. I got ads with shields down. That was a while ago when I tried that though.

@optimistofthewill - Well, to clarify a bit, while watching a video, I can click any of the suggested videos on the right of the browser window and not see any ads for those, but if I do a new search for a video and click on one of those results, then I may or may not see an ad.

I am having the exact same issue. I only have one YouTube account. I’ve tried clearing cache/cookies/data for Google and YouTube, but I sign in and it still happens. I’m unfortunately going to have to resort to using Chrome or Firefox unless this stops happening. I have playlists playing pretty much all the time and it’s inconvenient to have to keep reloading.

I have the problem that it only happens in one of my accounts but not in the others as already mentioned here. Is there a solution? Because I already disabled the shields and it doesn’t solve the problem.

Yeah, I’ve seen reports come in. Still investigating

So basically it’s a known issue but there’s no steps to take and no information you need or can use from the people experiencing this? Just wait while things hopefully get figured out?

We’re still working on it, maybe disable shields but you’ll get ads (or refresh?).

@fanboynz Thank you for looking into it! :slightly_smiling_face:

YouTube works normally when the shield is off. I tried clearing cookies, cache, and history, but I’m still facing the same problem. I even tried reinstalling Brave, yet the issue persists. All these problems started after the homepage UI got the update.
