I’ll make this quick; Youtube will not load no matter what if Brave Shields are on, making it functionally useless unless you install an adblocker like I have.
STILL not fixed. I want to move away from brave if this keeps on happening.

Alright, I’ll describe it.
Opening youtube with brave shields on, at any point, will cause it to constnatly refresh over and over, preventing usage of brave shields.
At random points, you will also be given the youtube consent popup, and it is impossible to close due to it appearing again if you try clicking any option.
I hate youtube.

I am having the same issue. If any SHIELDS are up, Youtube automatically logs me out or it simply doesn´t load (black screen with some frames on it).
I also suddenly started getting logged out of my Google accounts (Gmail, Drive, Docs, etc.) a few times per day while using Brave.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Disabled “Clear cookies and site data on exit” (so data isn’t wiped automatically).

Removed all extensions.

Confirmed Brave is fully updated.

Using only one profile.

Shields for Google sites are set to allow third-party cookies.
Brave version (check About Brave):
Brave 1.82.172 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I am experiencing the same issue. I can only reliably load Youtube with shields down.
Same here, site constantly refreshes until I disable shields then it works perfectly.
Same issue here, Vivaldi and proper Chrome browsers work just fine. YouTube Shorts play fine on Brave, but not normal videos.
I’ve found that removing the specific local storage key brave::wide with contents {"domain":"``youtube.com``","expires":1759329683000,"name":"wide","partitioned":false,"path":"/","sameSite":"lax","secure":false,"value":"1"}
resolves this issue for me. However, I’m having to do this multiple times a day

The same issue/bug in iPadOS 18.7 if running in desktop mode. The YouTube videos do not start with shields up.

Running YouTube in desktop mode seems to be the issue, because using the mobile version on Brave works just fine, weird.
Too bad you can not roll back with the app on iPadOS, the previous was working just fine. Bug only when watching on desktop mode. I hope they will fix it soon.
