This is a known Android issue, filed here:
However this is the first I’m aware of this issue occurring on iOS. Let me reach out to the team and see if we can reproduce.
Sorry, I’m not very good at English so I can’t understand it. Is there a solution written there?
I tried changing the appearance to dark, but that didn’t solve the problem.
Problems are occurring on sites other than YouTube as well.
Has it still not been fixed?
I’m currently using an iPhone 16e.
However, I’m experiencing the same issue with the iPhone 16e.
Can you please confirm whether or not you see this issue occur when viewing Youtube in other browsers? Namely other Chromium browsers such as chrome or edge?
I tried it on Chrome on an iPhone 16e and it was the same.
There were no issues with the iPhone 16e Edge.
This is likely an upstream issue that chromium has to fix. I’ve asked the iOS team to see if there are other reports about iOS devices (specifically) encountering the screen dimming issue.
Need to know what is your last system updated to.
Example currently iPhone is at 18.1 (public) and 26.0 Developers/Testers
Check if battery saver is on turn it off, if battery optimizations are on turn it off, low data mode should be off too, battery saver off also.
Check YouTube setting on the vid you’re watching. Top Rt gear wheel icon.
Good luck, X

Last system update: version 1.82
Battery saver is off
Battery optimization is off
There’s nothing in the YouTube settings that seems particularly relevant.
Confirmed updates
iPhone SE3: Brave 1.81
Brave 1.82
iPhone 16e: Brave 1.82
I can’t provide any more information than this, but is it still not fixed?
A similar issue has also occurred on Android Xperia devices.
Since the issue occurs on three models, a fundamental fix is necessary.
I tried the following solutions but they were ineffective.
Settings → Brave Shields & Privacy → Content Filter → “Brave Experimental Adblock Rules” (enabled) at the bottom.
Settings → Appearance → Mode → Light or Dark
Task Kill → Restart Brave.
Sorry for the lack of replies here – please allow me a moment to catch up and do some digging on this.
