Youtube pause play bounce back when not in youtube tab

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. youtube pause/play bounce back behavior when using pause button on keyboard when not in specific youtube tab. when you pause the video that is being played in the background using the pause/ play button on the keyboard (or you hit pause on a video using the “control your music, video, and more”) the video starts playing immediately after.

Expected result:

when pause/ play button is hit, the background video pauses. then the pause/ play button is hit again, the background video resumes. and so on

Same issue. maybe youtube or brave/chrome update.

Can almost guarantee that is was caused by a Youtube update.

Disable Brave Shields. Using uBlock Origin instead of Brave Shields fixed it.

This occurs not only from keyboard media keys, but when loading a YT video in a tab, when another is playing in different tab. They will then bounce back playing between each other.

Disabling experimental ad blocker in the filter list fixed the issue.
