I’m experiencing a display issue when using YouTube in Brave on Android.
Device: Huawei Mate 20 X
Brave version: 1.91.180 (Chromium 149.0.7827.201)
Android version: (if needed, I can add it later)
Issue: When watching YouTube via the mobile website (m.youtube.com) in Brave and switching to fullscreen mode, the video is incorrectly scaled. The bottom part of the screen is cut off, including parts of the video controls (timeline bar, like button area, etc.).
The video appears slightly zoomed in or improperly fitted vertically.
What I tested:
Problem only occurs in Brave (not in other browsers)
Just noticed this is happening on my Samsung Tab A9+. The bottom only of every video is being cut off when going to full screen mode in the landscape orientation. It appears as though it started for me with the last update. I did not recognize that this was happening last week
same here with my Motorola g57. I thought it was my device problem till now. This issue was there since a long for my device. Also its happening with youtube music too.
Unfortunately, this issue has become even worse after the last one or two Brave updates.
If I open a YouTube video in portrait mode and then tap the fullscreen button, the screen rotates but only about half of the video is visible (see attached screenshot).
However, if I rotate the phone to landscape before tapping the fullscreen button, fullscreen works correctly.
This still only affects the mobile YouTube website in Brave on my Huawei Mate 20 X. Desktop mode works as expected
Would anyone here be willing to download the Brave Nightly app and test youtube in Nightly and see if the issue is resolved? We have made some changes that should fix this issue but they’re still in Nightly at this time.
