Description:
I’ve been experiencing a bug on Brave for Android for about a month when using YouTube.
When I switch a video to fullscreen, instead of expanding properly, the video becomes very small and gets stuck in the top-right corner of the screen.
Additionally, when I tap the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) button in the navigation bar, the same issue happens — it behaves like a broken fullscreen mode instead of entering PiP correctly.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open https://www.youtube.com/ in Brave (Android)
- Play any video
- Tap the fullscreen button
→ Video becomes small and stuck in the top-right corner - Tap the PiP button
→ Same broken behavior occurs
Expected Result:
- Fullscreen should display the video properly, filling the screen
- PiP should minimize the video into a floating window
Actual Result:
- Video shrinks and stays fixed in the top-right corner
- PiP behaves incorrectly, similar to the fullscreen bug
Frequency:
- Happens every time
Device Information:
- Device: Samsung Galaxy A34 5G
- One UI Version: 8.0
- Android Version: 16
- Build Number: BP2A.250605.031.A3
- Brave Version: 1.90.128
- Chromium Version: 148.0.7778.217
Additional Notes:
- Issue started around 1 month ago
- Happens consistently across different videos

Update: I just found out that the issue is directly related to page zoom.
When the zoom level is set below 100% (e.g., 80%), the fullscreen and Picture-in-Picture (PiP) bug occurs consistently.
When zoom is set back to 100%, both fullscreen and PiP work normally again.
Additional Details:
-
Tested on 3 different devices — same behavior
-
Issue only happens when zoom < 100%
-
Seems directly tied to page scaling
