YouTube missing comments and suggestions (August 2025)

In the last few hours I have noticed YouTube is missing the comments and suggestions on brave mobile, android. It’s just blank. YouTube still plays however.

I have tried all the suggested fixes on the community website and elsewhere but nothing has worked. Even updating it to the latest patch.

I’m not sure if this is affecting anyone else but I thought I’d bring this to your attention.

Not seeing this on my end – comments/suggestions are still accessible as expected. Have you tried clearing cache/browsing data for YT on your Android device?

@Lothnar to be fair, this really isn’t helpful to say. Be specific on what you tried, otherwise you force everyone to assume one of two things:

  1. You sincerely have tried everything and it’s just broken for you, and you alone.
    or
  2. You really didn’t try everything. Since you didn’t list anything, we have to pretend you tried nothing because we don’t know what was or was not tested.

Things like which exact version of Brave you’re using, which Android OS you’re on, if you’ve adjusted any Shields settings, etc all make a difference. In fact, does it load properly if you disable Shields?

To build off of what was said earlier, this sounds like you have YouTube Mobile Distractions content filter enabled. Turn it off.

Settings → Brave Shields & Privacy → Content Filtering and then look for it and turn off the toggle.
