Lately YouTube’s been taking like 10–15 seconds to load videos on Brave, but only when I’m logged into my account. While it’s loading, I get that adblock message with a countdown, and I can only press X after it finishes.
It was working fine a some days ago, this just started recently.
If I log out of YouTube, it loads fine.
If I turn Shields off, it also works - but then I get ads.
Anyone else getting this? Kinda annoying, not sure what changed.
And yes, im up to date with everything.
Look how slow the video loads, so frustrating
Only delays I’ve seen previously myself were just being on Wifi, or connected to VPN
Tested all these, only happens when logged into youtube
Just tested this on firefox with ublock and it worked perfectly, signed into my google account too. So I would assume this is a brave issue. Not sure what to do now
I tried other google accounts and they worked, not my main account though. Has youtube blacklisted me?
I also noticed that brave’s adblocker is not blocking anymore.

Nothing in Brave causing slow downs on YT. Check a new profile, try Beta or Nightly?. From an NZ IP total load time is around 7-8secs.

Tried both builds, didnt work when i was signed in. Still gave me that 30 sececond unskippable black loading screen.
I tried going on firefox with ublock and it worked, so im kinda clueless right now
Not a brave user but same thing is happening to me on edge, if I clear cache then it loads normally until it doesn’t. Makes me wonder if maybe YouTube is pulling something.
It only happens on my youtube account, does not matter. They are giving me a 30 second black screen each video
I can confirm that this is somehow tied to a YouTube account which is why it doesn’t happen for everyone. I have the same problem and I’ve tested this on three different browsers: Vivaldi, Brave, and Google Chrome (with uBlock Origin).
On all three, YouTube had a 5-10 second delay before videos started playing if ad blocker is enabled.
The issue goes away and videos start loading immediately if you do one of the following:
I would think it’s account specific targeting related to adblock usage since switching to anotoher account fixes it, but that doesn’t explain why enabling a VPN also fixes it too..
Already tried having a VPN on and it did nothing, but yeah its tied to youtube account. Seems like the only solution Is that I need to pay for youtube premium
