Description of the issue: I’m experiencing slow playback on Youtube.com, both in Stable, Beta, and Nightly.

If I have the same problem in the Stable version
Will look into this. I will note that YT seems to be working fine on my Android device without hanging. In the meantime, it would be helpful if you can test YT in other browsers on the same device to see if you get the same behavior there.
I tried Edge, Vivaldi, Opera, and Firefox; everything works fine. But Brave works, even after deleting all my data. Now that I’ve added my email account, video playback is slow again. I also tried in a private window without an account, and it works. YouTube is most likely experimenting with the ad blockers they’re using with the email account, which is why it doesn’t take long to play. And without using the account, it returns to normal.
Yeah I suspect you’re right here. I’ve let the Shields folks know anyway to see if there’s anything we can/need to do on our end. Will keep you posted when I hear back.

you’re not alone with this issue and it’s not just mobile it’s also the desktop app (i use the desktop app)
How is it slow? How is it measured to be slow? Just clicking on a video, plays quickly here. Only possible slowness, if Hardware Acceleration is disabled it would show performance issues, or other extensions such as dark mode extensions.
I don’t have hardware acceleration disabled, but the videos are still slow when I click on them, like the video capture. This is the first time this has happened to me. I have dark mode disabled. It’s most likely that YouTube is experimenting with ad blockers that have email accounts. Because when I log out with my YouTube account, it returns to normal. And when I add my YouTube account again, it slows down when I click on the videos.
Initial testing, not Android and desktop+mobile UA. Not seeing any delays in loading various videos. All instantly loading when clicking on them. Is it specific videos causing issues?
I was testing with a login.
Perhaps you don’t notice the delays on YouTube videos and you see them normally on your device, but I do see delays in videos that take a while to play, and I don’t know what’s happening. And when I disable Brave Shields, the videos play fine and autoplay without delay. There’s no specific delay, everything is malfunctioning. I’ve had delays when clicking on the videos I shared in the video.
Not sure if it’ll help, Enable the Experimental list in Brave shield settings.
I have the experimental list enabled and updated, but it doesn’t do anything. I even previously completely disabled the filter list to see if it worked or not. And it didn’t.
