YouTube extremely slow and laggy

Description of the issue: YouTube has a very noticeable delay when switching between the different viewing modes i.e. from full screen to mini player or exiting full screen mode. There’s also a noticeable delay when using the arrow keys to seek forward or back. I’ve tried using YouTube in a private tab and it works fine.

Does the site work as expected when using Chrome? Yes. I’ve tried it with Chrome and this issue does not persist.

Hello. Yes it still performs the same. When I turn graphics acceleration off it performs a bit better for a few minutes and then goes back to being slow.

Ever since having this problem I have made sure to install the latest graphics drivers for my laptop.

You could also look at #use-angle flag at brave://flags as a potential solution.

I open YouTube tab and click to play video but it takes about 5 minutes for Brave to open that video. Usually it only takes 5 seconds to open. Please fix this for me. I read news saying YouTube has updated their ad algorithm recently, so Brave admin should also update. I am very grateful to the Brave team for creating an app that allows us to bypass YouTube Premium. We thank you very much
