:us: Hello, I have recently downloaded Brave and when browsing YouTube or trying to watch a video or generally doing anything on YouTube everything is very slow and crashes a lot, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have also tried with Google Chrome and it doesn’t work for me either and I have tried with Microsoft Edge and it works perfectly so I don’t know why.

Thank you for reaching out and I’m sorry to hear you are going through this. Can you please go to brave://crashes and

  • if you have automatic crash reporting is enabled (Settings --> Privacy/Security --> Automatically send diagnostic reports), please respond back here with the crash report ID
  • If Automatically send diagnostic reports is not enabled, ensure you click Send on these crash reports listed on the page, then reply here with the crash report ID

I need the crash ID to escalate the issue with my support team and investigate further.

YouTube doesn’t crash, youtube works but really really slow like if I had a potatoe PC but with Microsoft Edge youtube works fine.

Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings, to see if this resolves the issue?

You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration.

Additionally, try going to brave://flags > Search 'Vulkan' > Disable Vulkan > Retest

Hello, greetings, sorry for getting in and I don’t know if I’m on the right device, I have the Brave browser on my mid-range Android 10 and when I watch YouTube sometimes the image freezes but the sound continues, to fix it I have to block, other times, if I maximize the screen, the phone remains dark and only the sound works, only with YouTube there are bugs and it is something that has been increasing, thank you.

yes youtube is slow because of ad blocker (and ublock origin)

for this i disabled the ad blocker for youtube and install adguard for now to solve the problem

99% is because of the ad blocking feature used in Brave. It is buggy and unstable.

To turn off the adblocking feature, go to Brave Preferences → Shields → Content Filters. (or brave://settings/shields/filters)
