Description of the issue:
Do not suggest to make sure things are unchecked from “on exit” in brave://settings/clearBrowserData. Don’t.
Without having anything related to data being wiped on session, on tab, on browser or on site exit inside of brave://settings/clearBrowserData,
and, regardless of brave shield settings (please know and understand that I have checked through brave shield settings and have toggled brave shields on and off throughout time to make sure it is not deleting or blocking this data),
SOMETIMES, restarting the computer will log out of every single website on active tabs and delete all saved passwords.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
- use brave with tons sites logged in and passwords saved over weeks of use
2. restart computer with multiple brave windows running active tabs
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Every single site logs out and fails to have any saved password information, along with BREAKING and deleting windows hello passkey sign-ins.
Expected result:
To be able to resume where left off while still logged in and for password information to not arbitrarily delete
Reproduces how often:
Twice a month
Brave Version(about:brave):
v 1.85.111
(has happened for the past few years)
Reproducible on current live release (yes/no):
Yes
Additional Information:
I HAVE CHECKED BRAVE SHIELDS.
I HAVE CHECKED CLEARBROWSERDATA.
I HAVE TOGGLED MY EXTENSIONS.
PLEASE, DO ! NOT ! suggest to make sure things are unchecked from “on exit” in brave://settings/clearBrowserData. If I can’t fix this this one last attempt at troubleshooting, I’m going to have to move back to whatever is less ram intensive between opera or another chromium because I can’t just regularly go through re-entering every single password for every single site I use every few weeks just because Brave has some hiccup that it can’t shake. Keyloggers must ******* love this bug.
Also as a last notice, if you don’t want to be apprehended with a dull, rusty metallic object, DO NOT suggest anything about making sure things are unchecked from “on exit” in brave://settings/clearBrowserData. Keep yourself healthy, don’t do it but thanks for helping if you have literally anything unrelated to clearbrowsingdata, shields or extensions to suggest.
