Description of the issue:
Since a few weeks, maybe month, the Brave browser always closes the last active tab when I’m not using the app for some time. It’s just displaying a new page and text box “return to last used tab” (or similar, i have it localized to German). Please see attached screenshot. I’ve checked the battery settings for the app and set it to “not optimized” as suggested elsewhere, but it did not fix it
How can this issue be reproduced?
Open Web page
Minimize app
Keep it closed for ~1h
Start the app
Expected result:
Show last web page, don’t close it

Btw: The other/older tabs keep the web site. It’s just always the last one affected

You can disable it in the browser settings:
3-dot > Settings > New Tab Page > Opening Screen > Last open tab .
Also, Brave developers should change the default option for this setting to Last open tab.

You've recently introduced some strange UX in the Android versi… on of Brave.
Randomly (seemingly on a timeout?) the app, when restored, opens up with a blank tab and a notification that says "would you like to reopen the tab you were looking at".
This experience is very confusing and frustrating - mainly because it's inconsistent (it only happens sometimes?) but also because it's just not necessary, especially on mobile and tablets.
Notifications in general are annoying, because they steal your time - most people won't even read a notification, they will simply close it on reflex.
Getting a notification every other time I open my browser definitely should not be the default experience.
If anybody actually wants this behavior, it should probably be made opt-in and moved into settings.
The whole point of the Android application life cycle (where apps implicitly open and close, rather than users needing to open and close them) is you should feel like your apps are "always on" - that experience suffers when the app produces a completely different experience depending on whether the app was actually currently running.

### Miscellaneous information
If you want to make it faster and easier to open a new tab, you heave real estate, both in the bottom and top of the browser chrome (even on mobile) for a plus button, like you have in the tabs view - this would be a much better experience than randomly getting a notification instead of seeing the page you were trying to reopen.
