Why does the top bar of YouTube not work on mobile

The top bar that includes YouTube’s homepage and search bar does not work when clicked on iOS mobile. The new update somehow made the top bar unusable and the app has to be closed and restarted to make the website work normally. Is there a way to fix this?

Please edit your Original Post (“OP”) above, in order to include:

I am using an iPhone 14, iOS 18.7.1, Brave Browser v 1.84 (140); Private Browsing.

Same issue as the OP - no response when clicking on the magnifying glass (search) icon and anywhere to the left or right of it; also, unable to enter any characters to the left of the magnifying glass (search) icon:
