Unable to Access VPN (Already Paid)

Description of the issue:

I am unable to access my VPN. I have already paid and the “Restore„ button does nothing, only popping up the message as in the image attached.

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.84

Mobile Device details: iOS 18.6 (iPhone 13)

Additional Information: N/A

Looking at your first screenshot, it looks like you purchased the subscription on android, then linked it to your Premium account (account.brave.com). Great job getting done successfully!

So now you’re trying to link the subscription to your iOS device, correct? Well the Restore option will restore purchases made on that iOS device – but you didn’t make purchase on iOS. So that option, as you can see, is not going to work.

Instead, on your iOS device, launch Brave, login to account.brave.com and click the Refresh VPN button in the subscription box (shown in your first screenshot) to link your subscription to your iOS device.

I have done that and the VPN still does not work :”).

I was assuming when I refreshed the VPN it would change to iOS and that I would have to continue paying through iOS but it appears the payment for December has already been taken through said Android subscription, so I am just confused right now. The restore button still doesn’t work and neither does my VPN.

The restore button will not do anything on your iOS device since, as previously stated, you did not make a purchase on your iOS device.

Yeah this is not how it works. First, the original purchase you made on Android will always be the “main” subscription and it is where you will pay for the service from. No matter how many devices you link, you will always pay via the Google Play Store for the service and if you cancel the service on your Android device, it will be canceled for any linked devices as well.

As for using/linking the service itself, here’s how you can think about it – the subscription you purchased on Android granted you access to the VPN on that Android device. No other device you own has any knowledge of the subscription.

Then, the subscription was linked to your Premium account (account.brave.com). Now, your Android device knows about the subscription and your Premium account share that knowledge. So if you want more devices to know about your subscription, you can do so by linking them through your Premium account.

If you were to login to account.brave.com on a desktop device in Brave, for example, and click Refresh VPN, it would link that subscription to your desktop device and allow you use the service there. The same is true for your iOS device.

If you are logging into account.brave.com on your iOS device, in Brave browser and tapping the Refresh VPN button and it’s not working, can you please describe exactly what happens when you do this? Is there any error message? Or a success message? If so, what do they say?

When I pressed it, nothing happened at all. The button changed color (as it does when pressed), but nothing else happens and it reverts back to its original color.

I left it to sleep, however, and it started working again. It was probably just a bug/error. Thank you so much for the response and help.
