I have Brave Firewall/VPN, which I signed up for on my PC. Suddenly this morning (my renewal was yesterday) my phone thinks I don’t have the VPN. Even when I restore purchases it still insists I am no longer subscribed. If I try to purchase the VPN again it says I already have it but just doesn’t restore to my phone. I’ve rebooted and updated my phone and this issue persists.
Update: Deleting the app from my iPhone and re-installing worked, I’m not really sure why but hopefully this works for anyone else with this issue
@Augustus you need to link your accounts. When you purchase through the PC it has all the authorization tied to account.brave.com. When you try to access via iPhone or Android, it checks for authorization through Play Store/App Store.
So if you’re going across the platforms, need to connect the two together as is in the instructions at https://support.brave.app/hc/en-us/articles/13405790544653-How-do-I-add-a-new-device-to-an-existing-VPN-subscription
At least to confirm, did you ever link it? I’m assuming the issue is not linked. Also, it would be helpful if you shared what specific version of Brave you’re using on each device.
I did link the accounts already, which is why it worked for the past month.
Deleting and restoring Brave from my iPhone fixed it.
Hmm, that shouldn’t have been needed. I’ll cc: @B-Lee from Brave just to make sure it’s on their radar. For now though at least good to know it’s resolved.
