Split view is acting weirdly

Description of the issue: Content on left side of Split view crossing the set boundary.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open a new tab

  2. Open the split view on the tab

  3. Notice the content on left side crosses the set boundary.

Expected result: Content stays within boundary.

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.84.132 Windows 10

Additional Information: Dragging the separator fixes the issue.

One Suggestion: Kindly remove the 3 dots options from active tab’s bottom. It reduces the space available for the content to be viewed.

@Mattches Kindly have a look into it.

Can you share a screenshot of how the issue appears on your end? I’m not seeing any overflow on my end.

Like Mattches, I can’t see the issue either. Perhaps take a screenshot?

@Mattches

Just realised that the extra content shown in the middle is not some kind of overflow, rather, it’s the cache of the content which was originally shown there.

Not seeing this on my end or macOS or Windows 11. Let me see if any of our other team members can reproduce the issue. Just to be clear, you see this on all websites in split view?

@Mattches Yes, even on the new tab page.

@Mattches Any updates?

@Mattches Just tested and was able to see what @Clock is talking about here on my Windows 11 Pro with Brave 1.84.135.

So like if I’m on this page and the I right click on Clock’s username and choose to open in split view, it will contain just a very small sliver of this page in between the split tabs. It can be hard to see, but you’ll notice the black in in the middle, which is part of the screenshot from Split view is acting weirdly - #5 by Clock which I had on the screen at the time.

If I click that middle part and drag it, as it allows us to do in order to make one side smaller or bigger, then that goes away and it looks perfect.

So it looks like this is a Windows issue – might be caused by display scale. Can anyone seeing this please test and see if this occurs if they set the display scale to something like 150%?

@Mattches just tested and it happens even if put to like 150%. Went other way as well, testing at 50% and it did it. While at it also tested in a private window and issue occurred. Same with a new profile as well.

Can’t replicate on Nightly or Beta, so whatever is causing it seems like it might be addressed?

-EDIT-

Was originally thinking of Brave’s display. But just in case you meant OS display, I changed that as well but it still occurred. So doesn’t seem related to that for the current Release/Stable aspect.

Yes, I see that when zoomed in or out.
