Detailed** description of the behavio**
Good evening,
$99.99 was charged from my bank account for a Brave VPN product that I did not request. I only activated the free trial, and I did not intend to continue with the paid subscription. This charge was made without my authorization.
I urgently need this money to pay my essential expenses, and I kindly request a refund in accordance with your refund policy for unintended or accidental purchases.
Please help me, as I have no additional funds available and this situation affects my ability to cover my basic needs.
@Laserbreaker no need for the fake story. The charges only happen if authorized. If it was done on Android it goes through a very detailed step by step process where it tells you when you’ll be charged and everything. There’s no single button progression.
So either you forgot to cancel in time or someone on your Google account has used the trial before, you rushed through the agreements, and you instead agreed to pay since the one free trial was used.
Free trials are per account, not per device. So if ever used on any device, that’s it. To pull from what I have shared before:
NOTE: Just to show you can’t easily subscribe, so it can’t be by accident.
In order to setup VPN subscription you would have first had to go through this. It’s not just a one step thing but requires multiple steps. As you see, there’s option for annual of monthly. And as red circle shows, it tells you that it will automatically renew.
You would then have had to click on the Continue or Try 7 Days Free button, at which point it takes you to yet another screen. In this, you’ll see I had switched it up to monthly. In it, they tell you exactly what day you’ll be charged, how much, explain you won’t be charged if you cancel before a certain date, but then as red circle again shows it does explain you’ll automatically be charged if you don’t cancel.
@Laserbreaker so all the detailed confirmation on when you’d be charged and what, you knew and authorized.
That said, since done on Android it’s through Google Play. Typically you need to request refunds through them. I’m guessing you tried and they denied because of everything I said in the prior post and they are kind of annoyed of people lying to try to abuse things.
I only wanted the free trial and I did not intend to pay for a full year at a price I cannot afford. I lost money that I urgently need for my living expenses. It is true that I did not cancel the subscription in time, but the yearly charge is too high for me.
If there is any way to change it to a weekly or monthly plan instead, I would be willing to pay for that, but not for a full year.
It is not my intention to lie or take advantage of anything; I am simply worried because I do not have any more money. I kindly ask for your help, please.
@Laserbreaker keep in mind I’m just an active user. Much like I initially stated, the story is not relevant in terms of getting them to refund. You can submit through that ticket link provided so you can contact Brave directly and have all the relevant details they need to help.
Since it was done on Android, you won’t have an invoice number. So you can ignore that and leave it blank. All other details like the email associated and everything will be important for them to find the account info and see if they can help you.
