Description of the issue: Some time around the late morning, 9/12/25 PST, confirmation type buttons and redirect scripts seemed to be disabled or nonfunctional. These are necessary popups, they’re on all kinds of websites and they aren’t advertisements I’m trying to avoid.
I checked to see if popups were enabled for the sites I was using, but it seems like there’s only an option to enable or disable for the entire browser. So I allowed popups, and disabled other features that might interfere like enabling the cookie consent notices, or switch to app notices. Nothing changed, even after opening and closing the browser.
I checked if this was an issue on other browsers I use on mobile, but it’s not.
I primarily use Brave browser for text based games and it has rendered playing these game impossible. Worse, I tried to book tickets to a flight today and the process was halted due to this same issue. I either click a button and does nothing, or it attempts to redirect to whatever popup it is trying to open but immediately fails.
I have tried several things to remedy this issue, but it was only a temporary solution as this issue keeps coming back. I have tried shredding the website data that I was currently having the issues on, and it did seem to fix it immediately, but the problem returned maybe 30 minutes to an hour later.
I then just deleted Brave entirely and reset my phone before reinstalling Brave, which worked!… for only about 30 minutes to an hour.
I’ve done these things several times to fix the problem temporarily, but I would like a long term solution and a diagnosis of what is causing this!
I have used Brave for about a year and have never had a problem until today. Thanks for the great browser, sucks that I’m having such a huge problem with it.
How can this issue be reproduced? I just wait for it to happen, I don’t really seem to do anything to cause it. The only thing I think may be a correlation to leaving Brave running in the background while I’m using another app and then when I return, that’s when I find there’s this problem again.

EDIT 9/13/25: Still happening. The problem appeared when the browser was closed on my phone, which is different from how it usually is “recreated”. Opened it an hour later and this problem started again. Shredded site data and it’s fixed for now.
