My Google account keeps logging out every time I close my browser

When I first installed the browser on my PC, the same issue occurred—my Google account kept logging out every time I closed the browser. However, after a few days, the problem seemed to fix itself, so I continued using Brave for a while without issues. But later, the same problem suddenly started happening again. I’m not sure what’s causing it because it worked fine for a while and then started logging me out every time I closed the browser. It’s really frustrating because I have to log in every time. I’ve also attached a video showing the issue, along with my Windows version and Brave browser version. Please help me resolve this.

Brave Version-1.78.97
Windows Version - Windows 11 Pro, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3915)

I can’t upload videos so please let me upload

My current understanding is, for Brave Browser to remember some settings ← they must be set while NOT using Private Browsing (ie: NOT using New Private Windows, NOT using Private Browsing Only mode). And thereafter, the Brave Browser user must NOT use Private Browsing.

IF a Brave Browser user chooses convenience over security and wants their website logins to stick, then the user must DISABLE settings that would cause Brave Browser to clear cookies, forget passwords, and forget some site data . . . when closing a window, a tab, and exiting/quitting the browser, etc:

In a Brave Browser New Window (not a “New Private Window”), go to the On exit tab at brave://settings/clearBrowserData

DISABLE: Cookies and other site data
DISABLE: Passwords and other sign-in data
DISABLE: Autofill form data

And check the other 2 tabs (Basic, Advanced) for those settings; also enabling the setting for time range: “All Time” . . . and clicking on the “Clear Data” / “Save” buttons.

Android settings:

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to brave://settings/shields and:

  • DISABLE: Forget me when I close this site
(Clears cookies and other site data when you close a site)
(Some versions of the browser, may not have that setting.)

Also, I would NOT ENABLE any “remember where I left off” setting ← because such settings do not seem to work as a user may expect.

When adjusting settings for the mobile devices, being thorough means doing a complete, full exit / quit of the device ← following the instructions of the device manufacturers:

Android - closing apps:

Android - complete “forced” restart:

Try Settings → Shields → Content filtering → disable EasyList Cookie list.

Disabling that fixed my login issue with Facebook. My account info wasn’t saved for FB, no matter what I tried. I don’t know if it affects to your problem but it’s quick to try.

Hey!! Thanks,But it’s not working for me

Something like that happened to me but with Vivaldi, and it was because of the character ‘#’ in the path, namely the Folder #MyPortableapps. If I removed the # from that folders name, it remembered the google login status, if I put it back, it kept forgetting. I suppose it’s something about the google cookies not liking the # char in the path.

May interest:

If you end the task of the Brave browser without directly closing it, your Google account usually remains logged in

Any one from brave please soon fix the issues, almost a month gone.

Likely related to the following open issue:

I’ve added this report to the Github thread for review.

Well it takes some time to adjust to your new super powers. And thanks for uploading video, I see you’re just as irritated as I was when encountering this issue. Giggles™ used to allege you’re browser was “out of date” when this occurred, because it reads as “chrome-native://”, but what they actually mean to say is that their cup-o-java isn’t behaving the way they expect it too, because coffee’s would be flying off the planet left and right if they didn’t have all your personal info, advert ID, who you vote for, and which capcha’s piss you off the most. (the person helping you to setup cookies is correct in that pursuit) However, if those values remain upon firing up Brave, but your log remains “out” rather than logged “in”, something else is amiss.
However, giggles has come around in recent years, following Brave’s lead🗽, and they’re working to eliminate “3rd party cookies”.

You will need to approach this from your new vantage point though, since you’re easily defeating giggles with Brave’s bravery. So easily in fact, it’ll take a team of us to stop you from beating giggles at every single session, because you don’t even know how you’re kicking their ass.
I had to develop my own log in method’s, especially for the cloud “google workspace”.

So, give me a minute here to review all the crap I was convinced to do, by giggles, to meet their log in requirements. Which they all but own btw, “0auth2” . Brb, gonna dig on this a minute…

I’m brainstorming, I created my own logins because of this, we can solve this.

I’m going to give you a URL I use to interact with Youtube’s API. But I’m only doing that because it took me over a year to get this working right. But you’re in luck, brave is already completing the log in process , by logging you out. This URL should trigger a download from Youtube’s API, the output will have your personal details should you use this, so don’t store any extra copies or brag that it works, as tempting as that is.

If brave (chromium engine) can’t see this, it will do it again and again, so just delete the “.txt” and make it “.json”, your handle WITHOUT the “@” should work for the title. In a stock windows setup, your $PATH is anywhere powershell can see, like documents, but if you’ve setup any of your own packages you’ll want to put this in the local data store in braves folder, and restart brave. (control R clears your cache too)

The whole setup though requires a beautiful custom css theme that helps your local brave client dictate how the conversation should go. I put a link here: (with a really crappy video) “https://t.me/cheifwah00/41936” But you can see how to make your own Enhancer™42 if you watch the video.

after long day i’m facing this issue now onwards, i think it’s working good for month but today suddenly it’s log out again once i close my brave browser
