### Description
Starting ~3mo ago or so, several users have reported that they … are being logged out of websites when they close/relaunch the browser. Most of these users have confirmed that they do not have the `Forget me when I close this site` Shields protection enabled, nor do they have data set to be clear "on exit".
While it _might_ be related to extensions and/or individual profile setups, it seems unlikely that all of the users reporting this have the same extensions and/or setups, or if they do have similar setups, the common thread is likely a setting in Brave itself, pointing to it potentially being a bug/issue in the browser.
Some users have reported that the following ["solution"/"workaround" resolves the issue](https://community.brave.com/t/brave-keeps-logging-me-out-of-google/599655/5?u=mattches), but users should not have to take these steps to simply stay logged into websites when they close/relaunch the browser:
> 1. In a Brave Browser New Window go to `brave://settings/content/javascript`
> 2. Scroll down that javascript settings page to Allowed to use javascript
> 3. Click the `Add` button
> 4. Enter `[*.]google.com` as the site . . . but do not enable `Current Private session only`
> 5. Click the `Add` button
> 6. Repeat those steps for:
> ```
> [*.]firebaseapp.com
> [*.]gmail.com
> [*.]googleapis.com
> [*.]googleusercontent.com
> [*.]gstatic.com
> [*.]youtube.com
> ```
Users have reported this issue occurring on Windows, macOS and Linux systems. Most of these reports are specific to sites that use Google accounts/auth logins, but some users report this occurring for other sites as well.

This is also happening to me! Just want it noted since it looks like the github thread is tracking how many users have this issue.
I got a brand new Windows 11 machine, and when I installed Brave on here I noticed the sign-out problem right away. Hadn’t had any issue on my old Windows 10 machine.
I haven’t pinpointed what specific event triggers it. I do know:
It happens even if I haven’t closed the browser or turned off the computer (I left Brave running overnight last night and when I returned to the open Google Drive tab, all my accounts were signed out).
I’ve checked all the “usual suspect” settings (“on exit” data clearing has nothing selected, I don’t have “forget me when I leave” selected for any sites).
Brave version: Brave 1.82.166 (Official Build) (64-bit) Chromium: 140.0.7339.133

@melissaedow @kevofasol closing this as there are too many duplicate topics open. Current Github on this is at https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/49300
Long story short, they have been trying to figure this out and are hoping to get solutions for people experiencing the issue soon.
