Updated brave to 1:1.85.118-1 and the keyboard stopped working withing the application. Reinstalling the application doesn’t help.
Installing brave beta 1.86.116 fixes the issue

Update:
ruining “nojail brave” fixes the problem as well. So should be an issue with firejail and latest build of brave.
weirdly enough, on the same system using xfce brave and firejail work fine. The issue only happens with firejailed brave on cinnamon.
Update 2:
running “pkill ibus” before launching brave in cinnamon works, it launches sandboxed with keyboard working again
leaving my own findings here in case someone runs into this issue in the future and finds the post.

Correct. Also works fine on kde with fire jail. The issue seems to be only with cinnamon
