Please fix the problem with the music player running in the background. Please fix the problem with the music player running in the background; I’m using the latest version of Brave, 1.87.191.
I am experiencing similar issues w youtube audio cutting out a few moments after any input re: video play: if switching to background, if skipping fwd or back, switching to fullscrn or pip or even pausing then resuming play.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- See previous statement
Expected result: see previous statement. this does not occur every time. Also, Re: fullscreen—may not render full screen when pressing fullscrn arrows button on lower right of screen. This has not occurred in the last few days, nor did it ever occur in majority of cases.
**Brave Version( check About Brave): Version 1.87 (192)
Mobile Device details: iphone 13 mini always upgraded immediately to latest ios (currently 26.3.1)
Additional Information: youtube has been excessively glitchy in past weeks. Using a shortcut i created will open it w shorts and ads (as tho is safari, though it is Brave, for which i have shorts blocked, etc).
This issue was resolved with the update to version 1.87.192:
Note that this release is still rolling out so if you do not see the update yet it likely just hasn’t been fully rolled out across all devices yet. Please update the browser to the latest build when it becomes available and test again to see if the issue is resolved for you.
Thanks. Fingers crossed ![]()
I have the latest update you suggested had fixed the issue, but it does not. Any scrolling fwd or back will cause audio to cut off after a few seconds (or less, now). I restarted the phone as well. No dice.
Just tested on my end and it seems to be working. I did notice a delay for some videos, but it was only for a few seconds and I believe this particular delay is something we’re working on – it’s basically us blocking the ad that would typically be playing as you move from track to track in the queue.
Can you confirm for me that that is not the case for you and that the audio actually fully stops playing?
It cuts out and video continues to end w/o sound.
I see – this sounds like a different issue than the autoplay issue that was just resolved. To clarify, this only happens when the video is playing the background/lock screen? Or does this just happen when viewing YT content?
Just dropping by to say that I saw your tips and managed to update to the version 1.87.192 And the bug hasn’t reappeared, thank you all.
The bug is appearing again today (YouTube Music).

The issue was occurring w regular playback (not background). Apologies for delay in this update, but the issue has so far been resolved for me (on iOS) for a few days…
until today, it (sort of) occurred once w/o any user input —in middle of playback, sound cut out. Skipping back w the 10sec onscreen button rectified it. I don’t consider that worth mentioning except as technical documentation. Youtube just seems to be super finicky —playing videos w all the constantly evolving anti-ad code against anti-anti-ad code, i am guessing. Thanks for providing this convenience. This bit of tetchiness is definitely inconsequential compared to the value of ad removal. ![]()
