I like that the new tab page has a favicon, but

Really it should be a different color or something from the favicon of the Brave site. Nothing too eye catching. Gray maybe?

Not a deal breaker by any means, but as it is now, it’s throwing off my conditioned reflexes a little bit. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I didn’t like that the new tab page had a favicon, and it took seeing this post to realize why. Went and checked my screenshots, lo and behold, it used to not have one, which is really useful to tell at a glance with many tabs what a New Tab is. It just had the start of the tab title, depending on spacing(in this case, “New Tab“).

If they grey it out exactly like the “Open image in new tab“ right-click context menu option Favicon, it should be fine, as long as they don’t use it anywhere else… for instance, this site’s tab right now looks identical to a new tab.

Just exactly my point. If there is a favicon it should be something distinctive to the new tab page. And aesthetically it should be not too eye catching. Hence my suggestion of a gray version of of the Brave icon.

There are already distinctive favicons for local pages such as settings and downloads. So aesthetically having one for new tab isn’t crazy.

But if there were a flag to keep the old way, I would use it.

Looks like they are taking care of it.

Is the fix in the new version that just dropped [1.85.116]?
I see no mention in the release notes, but that isn’t definitive.
Thank you.

@Meeker-Morgan this has not yet been implemented. You can keep an eye on the issue and see when it is getting ready to go out.
