For some reason, the shortcut icons and my browsing history disappeared, how can I fix this??

That said, I know it seems obvious but to confirm, you did not delete your browsing data/history recently? Additionally, are you currently using Brave Sync at this time?
The favicons are not appearing for the same reason your History is not appearing – the data was cleared for some reason and the favicon images are no longer stored in your browser profile. They will be fetched and applied again as soon as you visit those sites again.
Hey, so I’ve got the same problem. I don’t have brave on any other device. I didn’t delete my search history manually, and the icons do not appear to come back after i visit the site. My search history just seems like it doesn’t save, because after i visit some sites, it is still empty.
Can you please ensure you’re using the latest build of the browser (was updated today to v1.84.135) and test and see if the issue persits?

Same situtation, sync enabled, W11 24H2, Brave 1.84.135
Same situation just happened to me, history and bookmark icons gone, Windows ARM 25H2.

Hello @Mattches. I have been affected by the same issue. Windows 11 24H2, Brave 1.84.135.
I am not using Brave Sync (and never have).
I also wanted to note that when I visit my bookmarked sites, the favicons do not get fetched and reloaded. They continue to be grey placeholders.
Neither is any new history being recorded as I visit websites. My History page remains blank.
I would like to contribute more information about this issue, I’m using Windows 11 Home 24H2, and Brave v1.84.132.
I have not turned on Brave Sync at any time using the browser.
In addition to bookmarks that existed before the v1.84.132 update, new bookmarks that I make do not get assigned favicons, and sites that I visit do not get logged in my history.
Apparently, using the Brave Beta fixes the bookmarks, but I have not checked that myself yet.
i’m not using Brave Sync.

Edit: Noticed that this issue only occurs in my main profile, so I did a sync in a new profile and it is working OK; but I don’t know if it will break again…

Can anyone here encountering this issue share a screenshot of the top of their brave://flags page? I’d like to see if there are any common flags enabled by users encountering this.
Additionally, can anyone here confirm whether or not they may have downgraded their browser version recently for any reason?
