3 days ago, my browsing history completely vanished, and is no longer working no matter what I do, thanks Brave!
At the same time, all my bookmarks and all my tabs (I know I have a lot, not the topic) have had their icon disappear. The only way to bring them back is to remove the bookmark and re-add it, which I will not do as I have a lot of bookmarks.
same happened to me with all passwords and site settings luckily i still have my bookmarks cuz i have a ton of them like you do. regardless im now looking for a more stable browser. i here duckduckgo has a good one better than brave.
Same. The last few days the favicons on tabs have been loading blank but when clicked they load and are persistent. I have several Brave windows with full width of tabs running, that’s how I roll and it’s normally fine.
The favicons on the bookmark bar don;t load and display a blank, generic icon. When clicked don’t load. Hovering over bookmark bar blank icons does display the URLs , which is at least something because most don;t have text label.
I waited until the current build Brave 1.84.135 (Official Build) (64-bit) Chromium: 142.0.7444.135 in case it was something with the 29th October build.
History, in my case, does display but with blank generic favicons.
?Possible trigger:
Windows build Preview Update (KB5067036) (26100.7019) WAS showing as failing to install 30 Oct until today 11 Nov after numerous retries. Rebooted retried etc, Cleared download folder in %Win/ SW distribution/ download no avail
Today 2025-11-11 after updating to latest Brave build the (KB5067036) (26100.7019) update is showing as successfully installed on 30 October. Odd
I had the 2TB SDD appearing almost full 875MB free few days ago, though in reality it’s only half full. Perhaps this was due to a very long queue of longform videos in in Youtube (20m to over an hour). I had been saving queue, which hadn’t been persistent after reboot or Brave window reload. The queue was being appended rather than overwriting the YT queue, so over 2000 videos. I was unable to corroborate if excessive apparent disc usage WAS due to the YT queue.
I can confirm that everything is now working.
All tab and bookmark favicons are back, and browsing history is now working again (but everything before today got cleared).
