I chose the Filter list (from Brave’s offered lists) called “AI suggestions blocker,” and also added a custom filter list, “Stevo’s GenAI Blocklist”. Everything’s fine as long as I don’t shut down my system.
Whenever I reboot my laptop and restart my browser the checkmark in front of the chosen list is gone, and the link to the custom filter file is also gone.
I am using an add-on called “Cookie AutoDelete,” but the Brave Settings page is whitelisted. (I also don’t think Settings are based on cookies, or are they?)
You might create a new Brave Browser user profile (Menu --> More tools --> Add profile) for testing. When creating this new Brave Browser user profile, try to keep it simple:
Do not import anything.
Do not add any extensions.
Do not make any adjustments to content filtering at brave://settings/shields/filters
Do not allow/enable any Brave Browser “bells and whistles” such as Brave Rewards, Brave Talk, etc.
Suggest that after you create that new user profile, Exit / Quit everything and restart the computer … and then choose the new user profile for testing.
