I didn’t see any fake captcha myself.
I see fake captcha news everywhere. Also i see people fall victim to them every day, asking for help on forums. They make me worried. I’m considering installing Brave to my mom’s PC for extra protection. Does Brave prevent fake captcha scam from appearing? If not, is there a custom filter i can install which prevents fake captchas maybe?
The popups being generated that show the fake captcha, are blocked. Not targeting the fake website itself since that changes often, but the scripts generated the popups we block

I already have Brave with lots of custom filters installed, which protect me from extra malicious stuff. I also have Kaspersky AV. My PC is well protected. I wanted to know how much Brave protects from fake captchas on its own, if install it to my mom’s PC. Thanks for the reply.
Do you need to have the “Block Scripts” on in the Brave Shields section in order for Brave to block the fake Captcha scripts?

For Global Brave Shields Settings: brave://settings/shields , Block scripts Enabled will block some - but not all - fake CAPTCHA scripts.
My practice has been to always have Global Brave Shields Block scripts Enabled. And then, I Allow JavaScripts for specific websites.
AND, block websites’ access to the computing device clipboard.
In a Brave Browser New Window, go to: brave://settings/content/clipboard?search=clipboard and Enable Don't allow sites to see text or images on your clipboard
@Karas you can see all current filters that come with the browser (and which are active) by going to brave://settings/shields/filters (click Show full list).
Yes, i know that. But i don’t know if Brave filters already cover these custom filters’ functions. That’s why i’m asking.
