brave(Brave 1.83.118 (Official Build) (64-bit), Chromium: 141.0.7390.108) flatpak on cashyOS crashes when i type “bab” on the address bar. i tried it multiple times. this also happens on private tabs, so it probably has something to do with my user data. i would have uploaded a screen cast along with a screenshot if there wasnt a limitation on “new users”.
@sobie does it happen in a new browser profile? That’s the hamburger menu (three lines top right) → More Tools → Add new profile. Then test with it.
If it happens on that as well, then might suggest you install from one of the recommended channels listed at https://brave.com/linux/ to see if it happens on that?
As you may be aware, the FlatPak version is never recommended and can have its own set of issues since it’s not fully “battle tested” by Brave or Chromium.
Brave is available as a Flatpak package from Flathub. While it is maintained by Brave Software, it is not yet working as well as our native packages. In addition, it modifies Chromium sandboxing in ways which have not been vetted by the Brave or Chromium security teams. We currently recommend that users who are able to use our official package repositories do so instead of using the Flatpak.
