Description of the issue: clicking new-tab-page search box instantly crashes said brave instance.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Download Brave
- go to “brave://new-tab-page/”
- click search box (middle of the screen)
Expected result: to be able to search or type in said box
Brave Version: v1.80.125 (official build) (64bits)

I just changed from chrome to brave. And i really hate the “dashboard” new tab, so i use the chromium new tab. It worked the first weeks but suddenly this bug appeared. then disappeared for another week, and now it happened again. It’s really making me regret the change to brave.

But it looks like this is ignored.
I think that this is an awful way to onboard in a new browser and this should be taken seriously if brave wants to increase its userbase.
I’m making this post to support the guy that made the first one and show that there are more than one person with this problem.
