Browser stutters when loading up multiple forms of web content

**Has anyone experienced this issue before (see YT link)? I’m not sure what caused this. It only happened recently (around a week ago), and I don’t recall doing anything that I think could cause this. Does not occur with Microsoft Edge browser for comparison.

Twitch.tv stutters or tab freezes when loading a heavy website on another tab

Description of the issue: How can this issue be reproduced? Open two fresh tabs with no extensions, also disable shields. Open Twitch . tv and select any stream, wait for ads to finish. Now on the 2nd tab, open a heavy site. For my example, I can best reproduce this using https://gemini.google.com/. When Gemini is loading previous chats, the twitch tab will freeze. Can similarly be reproduced with a heavy website like YouTube or Reddit. YouTube example: [brave issue] …

Full screen videos in the background get paused

hey, tried a bunch of solutions online but nothing worked, is there a way to get full screen videos to work while they are behind other full screen windows ? it always gets paused Description of the issue: How can this issue be reproduced? open a full screen video, open a different instance of brave browser above it not as a small window but maxed one, and the video will freeze Expected result: Brave Version( check About Brave): Additional Information:

@Mac10Monarch problem is no matter what I do, I can’t seem to encounter the issue and it doesn’t seem widespread. I’d wager it’s settings or extension. I’ve tried doing lot of different ways but not really hitting any problems.

Let me also tag @Popdupe and see if the two of you can specify anything more that perhaps I should be looking at.

Testing reported stuttering issues

Just to provide extra info, these are the extensions I use. Stuff like AdGuard Extra only works for Twitch. RoPro, Roblox Profile Notes, RoSeal, and BTRoblox only work for Roblox sites. Not sure if that has any relevance.

FYI, even if extensions are made only for particular sites, they can still impact things outside of it. Big thing you can kind of look at though is testing on a new browser profile or via private window, as either should load without extensions.

Also I’m seeing AdGuard listed but also seeing Shields active. There can be overlap from them or potential issues.

Big thing I’d suggest is to try just in the new profile only. Don’t change any settings or ad extensions. If you’re not familiar how to do that, I’ll show below:

Hamburger menu → More Tools → Add new profile.

Hi,

I’m the OP of one of the threads you linked, I did not post an update but I did find a solution.

For me, it was as simple as the below, provided you have an Nvidia GPU:

• Download Nvidia Inspector: link

• In the profile section, type brave. If there are multiple, that’s ok, do the below for both.

  

• Once you have the profile selected, use the search field and type “Frame rate limiter”.

  • Make sure these are both set to OFF

    

• Once done, hit the apply changes at the top right.

  

• Repeat for any other brave profile.

  • If no brave profile is available, you can add it manually.

NOTE:

• There are suggestions to do this via Nvidia panel however it did NOT apply and stick for me. Only Nvidia inspector worked for me.

I hope this resolves your issue like it did for me.

@Mac10Monarch Yes. This has been the exact same issue that’s been happening to me for the past 6 months. Thanks to @Saoiray my issue has been somewhat fixed. Still monitoring if issues come back (mostly rare loading on videos). But I recommend you read the post since we have the exact same problem going on.

Hello, I created a new profile and the issue still persisted. Doesn’t seem extensions have anything to do with it.

I do see @mattskiiau’s solution. The control panel thing ( Videos/Streams keep Lagging, stuttering, & stuck loading - #4 by Popdupe , same thing just maybe not persistent) does work. Both seem like solid interim solutions, so I’ll mark it as resolved for now. I hope we see a better solution in the future.

I’m glad I’m not the only one encountering this issue. Thank you guys for your help!
