I just signed up for the Brave VPN trial, but I don’t see how to download it. I can turn on the VPN inside of the browser, but that isn’t going to work for me. I need an icon in the bar on the top right of the screen (like other VPNs) so that I can always see the VPN status no matter what program I’m using, and be sure that it’s working for all traffic and not just Brave traffic.
If there is a way to do that, let me know, but if not, this is some feedback on why I’m not going to use Brave VPN.
I’m trying to activate the vpn on brave via iOS and it isn’t reflecting that I bought the free trial. I tried to go to settings in my iOS to activate the vpn as well and it still isn’t working
That looks promising, but it’s asking me to enter auth information. I enter my Brave password, and it doesn’t work. MacOS dialogs usually unlock with a fingerprint, so I’m not sure what that is.
Edit: deleting the VPN configuration profile and then re-adding it got rid of the password prompt.
The only problem still remaining is that the icon doesn’t change depending on connection status, so I can’t tell if I’m connected to the VPN or not from a glance. I can turn on the time connected indicator, but then there’s some distracting animation in the top right of the screen, and it takes up too much of the menu bar.
Also, the VPN disconnects every time I close the laptop. When I open it, the VPN is off and there’s no indication in the menu bar that it’s disconnected.
