Brave keeps telling me there's an extension error that's been resolved

Description of the issue: Whenever I start Brave, I see that I have “error” written over the three-line menu. When I click on that, I’m told I have an extension error. The first time this happened, there actually was an extension issue so I uninstalled the extension. Now when I click to see my extensions it shows there is no error, and yet every day I get error over the three lines.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Start my browser.

Expected result: The three lines are there and it doesn’t say error.

Brave Version(1.82.170):

@cherold do you know which extension it was that you uninstalled that resolved the error?

@cherold what you’re seeing typically is what comes up when you have something on your device that is trying to install the extension. Adobe is notorious for this where they’ll add a registry that will force install their extension on any new Chromium browser profile you create. Even if you delete their registry entry, they’ll add it again when Adobe updates. I uninstalled all Adobe products because I got tired of fighting them.

The browsers will show the Error to bring your attention to show you how something tried to add the extension from a source other than the Chrome Web Store and is basically going to ask you if you want to remove it or keep it. Until you respond, it will continue to show the Error and won’t have it enabled.

As Mattches asked, it’s good to know which extension you are seeing being added.
