Description of the issue: Brave crashes as soon as it is opened. This started a few weeks ago (wasn’t 100%), but got much worse in the last few days, now 100% of the time.
I’ve tried
Removing Brave & re-installing
Launching in New Private Window
Launching in Test Profile
Uninstalling the 2 offending Apps related to the Extensions (Google Drive & Adobe Acrobat)
Clearing my local AppData
Removing all the Brave keys in the Registry
Removing the relevant offending Extensions from Google Chrome ('cause why not).
After 1-2 second, observe that the “settings button” in the top-right updates to right “Error”
Click on the “settings button”, observe the 2 errors that appear (see below)
Brave will auto-close after 1-2 more seconds (whatever you do)
The errors are:
New extension added (Application Launcher For Drive (by Google))
New extension added (Adobe Acrobat: PDF edit, converst, sign tools)
Expected result: Buildozer doesn’t crash, doesn’t automatically try to install these extensions on a “clean install/boot”
Brave Version( check About Brave): Very difficult to determine, because of the speed of the Crash, but re-installed today from the website, the installer file is BraveBrowserSetup-BRV030.exe
Additional Information:
I’m on Windows 11 (Windows 11 Home - 24H2 - 26100.4770)

@naxfen can you go into your User data folder (~/AppData/Local/BraveSoftware/Brave Browser/User Data/Default), see if you can locate the folders correlated with those extensions and delete them then relaunch?
The folder for Google Drive should be labeled: lmjegmlicamnimmfhcmpkclmigmmcbeh
Adobe reader extension should be labeled: efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj
Hello! Unfortunately, I have no extension folders in the Default folder (which makes sense I guess, since I manually deleted the BB AppData before re-installing…)
I’m now realizing that the extensions would have been in the User data folder, not the profile/Default folder – my apologies. Glad to hear it’s fixed either way.
